Missio Dei Spring Retreat 2007!

This past weekend we had an awesome time at our Spring Retreat, and lucky for us the snow melted just in time for it to actually resemble spring!

We had fun hanging out, eating great food (thanks kitchen crew!) playing games, serving together, and discussing what friendship really means (because after all, friends are friends forever, right?)

Of course, rather than have me remind you of what happened this weekend, I'd rather open up the floor for everyone to share their retreat experiences. So if you have a favorite story, hilarious moment, way in which you were impacted, or an encouraging word for someone, please share it. The floor is open...

Ok, my favorite moment, by far...was Will's song about cheese during the talent show.

I wish I had been there for the talent show!

I'm going to have to go a more serious route, however, and say that my favorite part was Josh's teaching on Friday night. He had some great insight into the texts he used and he really challenged me on how I approach my relationships.

I don't know. through out the the teaching on the retreat I often wondered how we treat outsiders. people who we have relationships with or those who we did have relationships with. it seems that we are so quick to judge those we don't feel comfortable with. so quick to dismiss those who have a different perspective than us. are we to assume that because they view things differntly they are wrong about everything in life? I know thats not what was taught on the retreat. but it seems that despite any situation or circumstance we should be willing to talk to and reach out to those who we feel distant from or those in pain we know from the community or those we have been close too in the past. if we don't are we really living a Christ centered life?
